- This district is bounded by the Brouwersgracht, Prinsengracht, Leidsegracht, and Lijnbaansgracht canals, a few streets west of the city’s main railway station.
- Even if many of the tenants have changed, buildings like the 1642-era Cafe Papeneiland still provide a glimpse into Amsterdam’s past (and, incidentally, serve some killer Dutch apple pie).
